Meet Our Founder

Patrick A. Simmsgeiger
Founder

While attending business college, Patrick Simmsgeiger realized his heart’s desire was research and development of products for use in aquatic environments. He began learning the trade at the age of 14 while working with his father's company. Then, for eleven years he was employed by a manufacturing firm that produced chemicals for use in industrial, agricultural and domestic water treatment programs. Later, after putting his experience and dreams into action, he was able to open a manufacturing facility for production of what he would call the “Formula F- Series Aquatic Treatment Products”.  Having offered services and products since 1973, the growing demand led to the formal founding of Diversified Waterscapes, Inc. in 1988 as a leading aquatic environment manufacturing and lake management firm, based in Southern California. The revolutionary product that first launched in California is now EPA-registered in over 40 states across the U.S. and has since expanded to eight products in the F-Series as well as other products.

In addition to his extensive “hands-on” experience in the development, restoration, maintenance and cleaning of lakes, ponds and streams, Pat is licensed by the Department of Agriculture as an Aquatic Pesticide Applicator, is a Certified Lake Manager, and possesses a Landscaping Contractor’s License.  Additionally, he holds a Pest Control Business License and is an active member of CAPCA, PAPA, WAPMS, FAPMS, CALMS and NALMS.

You can usually find Pat out in the field working alongside his employees, applying products, solving problems, developing new and innovative ways to treat algae and weeds and experimenting with unique new methods of application and ways in which to utilize his line of products. 

He has an entertainingly funny and outspoken wife and two beautiful, adult daughters who keep him quite busy.  He stays active with various hobbies including flying, surfing, scuba diving, mountain biking, hiking and anything involving the great outdoors.
